Re: [Becker] The Meaning of Life

by Peter on November 17, 2009

I once wrote to no interest of anyone a satirical sketch about whether Becker would become a religious icon some day, and whether a religious tradition would form around him as a "martyred" leader.

One of the typical features of the development of religions is how the followers split into different "schools." In Christianity, one finds Catholicism, Orthodoxy, and Protestantism, and after that a thousand splinters and denominations. In Islam, one finds Shia and Sunni and again many splinters. The same is true of Hinduism and Buddhism and their various incarnations and schools.
